Mignon’s Steaks & Seafood is Only Mississippi Restaurant to Receive Prestigious Wine Award


January 26, 2010 — Mignon’s Steaks & Seafood fine dining restaurant at Palace Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi has again been selected as one of the nation’s most wine-friendly restaurants by Wine Enthusiast magazine, for the fourth consecutive year. The Award of Distinction 2009 was presented to Mignon’s for the restaurant’s dedication to delivering the most wine-friendly experience to their patrons. The restaurant has previously received Wine Enthusiast magazine’s Award of Distinction in 2006, 2007 and 2008, however, Mignon’s was the only restaurant in Mississippi to receive a 2009 Best Wine Menu award.

Wine Enthusiast magazine’s Award of Distinction is the second prestigious award Mignon’s Steaks & Seafood has received for four consecutive years, for the restaurant’s commitment to help make wine an important part of the total dining experience. Mignon’s has also been awarded the Award of Excellence in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 from Wine Spectator magazine. The award reads, “Wine Spectator is honoring Mignon’s Steaks & Seafood for having one of the most outstanding restaurant wine lists in the world.”

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Award recognizes restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers. To qualify for an award, a restaurant’s wine list must present complete and accurate wine information. It must include vintages and appellations for all selections, including wines available by the glass. Complete producer names and the overall presentation and appearance of the list is also taken into consideration. Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence was awarded to Mignon’s for the fine dining restaurant’s selection of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.

Pan seared filet mignon with white wine poached Maine lobster risotto and port wine reduction garnished with pea tendrils and day lilies entrée.
