Biloxi, MS —Food and beverage associates at Palace Casino Resort loaded a donation of seven pallets of vegetables and fruit to donate to Loaves & Fishes, Feed My Sheep and Seashore Mission food banks.

“We’re happy to be able to turn the negative situation of our resort’s temporary closing into a positive way to help our local community,” stated Jim Brown, Food & Beverage Director.  Food and beverage stockers, Joseph Sloan, Amber Alley, Matthew MacFadden, Purchasing Supervisor, Jessica Smith and Palace Buffet Executive Chef Dean Kronauer compiled seven pallets of crates filled with pineapples, cabbage, spinach, squash, broccoli, melons and more.

The food will be shared among several local food banks including Loaves and Fishes in Biloxi, Feed My Sheep in Gulfport and Seashore Mission in Biloxi.  Ivan Vor, Director of Loaves & Fishes and volunteer, Shane Ledet, expressed their gratitude for the large donation of fruit and vegetables.

In accordance with closure orders from the Mississippi Gaming Commission, Palace Casino Resort temporarily suspended operations based on the recommended federal and state guidelines to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
