Biloxi, MS—Palace Casino Resort has redesigned its entire casino slot floor layout to offer greater distancing and provide more separation between players. Slot machines have been arranged in a way that eliminates nearly every instance of side by side gaming. These changes and others were made to prepare for reopening in light of heightened concern for health and safety.

In 2011, Palace Casino Resort became the first smoke free casino in the region and remains committed to providing a clean, smoke free environment. Smoke free has never been more important to avoid transmission of germs and illness. Customers will not be exposed to anyone exhaling smoke or vapor particulates.

“We knew the game had changed and visiting a casino would not be the same for a very long time,” stated General Manager, Keith Crosby. “We wanted to go beyond cleaning and sanitizing to provide an even safer casino with greater distancing to avoid gaming next to anyone.”

“There was never a question about what had to be done to protect our customers,” continued Crosby. “We decided early on that when we reopen, we would suspend gaming activity in the casino between 3 AM and 8 AM every day to thoroughly clean and disinfect surfaces, including UV disinfection of gaming chips.”

There will also be a dedicated housekeeping staff to sanitize and disinfect each game following each gaming session and to distribute disinfecting wipes. Hand sanitizer stations have been placed throughout the property, on the casino floor and at each restaurant. Plexiglass shields have been installed to ensure distance and protection for guests and team members throughout the property, including cashier locations in restaurants, the Sports & Race Book, Hotel Front Desk, and Player Services.

Restaurants will operate at a reduced capacity with fewer, more distanced tables. The buffet will become a cafeteria-style venue with guests’ plates prepared by our team members. Servers and other food and beverage associates will be wearing face masks and gloves.

PURE The Palace Spa & Fitness Center will remain closed to avoid direct contact. Valet parking, room service and other hotel services will not be available when the property reopens.

Palace staff entrances will include a temperature screening system and team members are advised to stay home if they are ill, exhibit symptoms, or have been exposed to Covid-19.

“We have missed our guests and team members and can’t wait to welcome everyone back as soon as it’s safe and we have approval to do so,” Crosby stated. “There is a real difference here at The Palace and I think everyone will appreciate it.”

Palace Casino Resort remains temporarily closed as mandated by the Mississippi Gaming Commission. The executive team is working with regulators and will certainly address any additional requirements they may have.
